XAVIER MCKEEVER

Xavier McKeever is one of Canada’s fastest‑rising cross‑country skiers and a second‑generation Olympian establishing himself on the world stage. He qualified for the Milano Cortina Olympics by winning the men’s sprint free at the Nordiq Canada Olympic Trials and went on to finish 13th in the Olympic skiathlon, for one of Canada’s best individual results at the Games. He continued his momentum with a bronze medal at the 2026 U23 World Ski Championships.

As the son of Olympians Robin McKeever and Milaine Theriault, and nephew to 20-time Paralympic medalist Brian McKeever, Xavier grew up on skis, but it wasn’t until he witnessed his dad and uncle win gold at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympics that he knew he wanted to pursue cross-country skiing.

McKeever competed at five FIS Junior World Championships, highlighted by a historic 2020 relay silver—Canada’s first world championship relay medal at any level. He made his senior World Championship debut in 2023 at just 19 and has since contributed to back‑to‑back fifth‑place finishes in the men’s relay, along with a top‑10 team sprint result in 2025.

On the World Cup circuit, McKeever completed his first full season in 2023–24, earning a career‑best 19th in the Canmore sprint classic. Last season, he followed that up with a 13th-place finish during the Tour de Ski in Italy.
